Morioka Chua High School - Japanese Exchange Programme - Report from Puan Raja

From 20th - 26th March 2017, we had the honour of hosting our guests from Morioka Chuo High School.  We welcomed their accompanying teacher, Ms Megumi Sasaki and the three students, Yukito Morisawa, Gen Endo and Nanami Yamashita. Our hosts were Chong Jia Hui, Rishikah Dewi and Nathaneal Lim Wei Shen.

Morioka students brought a brilliant performance of their traditional dance, called the ‘sansa odori’. It is a traditional dance of Morioka and was truly wonderful. They also presented about Japan, and their cultures. This was followed by our students sharing the intricacies of Malaysian culture. It was a great educational exchange of cultural information among the students!

We arranged a number of activities for our guests including trips to the Batu Caves, KLCC, Craft centre and Putrajaya.

The visit was an enriching experience for the entourage from Morioka Chuo High School.  We wish to  extend our appreciation to everyone including parents who hosted the students and all our fellow teachers who extended our hospitality to our guests.   The time spent here with us provided a glimpse of our culture, values and most importantly,  our close bond with our sister school.
