Basketball Season gets underway. Both the boys and girls had successful starts to what will be a very busy Basketball season. The O15 boys won their first KLSL game against MIGS on Monday 6th Feb. Team Thunder were off to a good start and took the early lead after the end of first quarter. It was the second quarter when the hosts managed to get some points as all the bench players from TIS were on the court. However, the TIS boys did a good job and scored a few baskets without any help from the key players of the team. After that, the lead grew to more than 20 points in the fourth quarter and Team Thunder won the game easily by 47-21. Team: Dean, Chee Seng, Yoel, Pius, Kenneth, Najib, Brandon, Jian Yaow, Marcus, Ethan, Panja, Mun Hau Coach: Mr. Prem U16 Girls ‘B’ vs Mutiara (MIGS) On Wednesday 8th Feb, MIGS travelled to the Thunderdome to take on the U16 ‘B’ team (actually Team Thunder U15, the O15 being the ‘A’ team). It was a chance for coach Ms.Bella to take a look at some fringe players with KLISS and ISAKL invitational tournaments around the corner. The first quarter was dominated by Taylor’s and at 14-2 it could have been 50 points. Sara Tan led the way but was ably assisted by Lisako. Resting these two made the game a little more even but Taylor’s still proved too strong, running out victors 25-6. Please make sure you accept the Google Classroom invites from Mr.Prem and Ms.Bella and make a note of all the fixtures. The KLSL fixtures replace training, but with KLISS, KTJ Invitational and ISKL Invitationals included, there is lots to play for this season.
